The title “Good Bones” references a real estate term used to describe a house that appears uninhabitable but could be salvaged with a little work. It is hopeful, or at least aspirational. In Good Bones, Nick Meyer is seeking a more stable future, maybe something to be passed down for generations.
Good Bones u ses images seen and made by Meyer over the past 7 years to make sense of a present that refuses to be tethered to any familiar understanding. The pictures are made in the world but without a specific place in mind. Rather, through sequencing, they are taken out of context to form a new understanding of the world around us in the hopes of finding an optimistic future.
