Throes is a quiet meditation on the awe and ache of early parenthood. Last year we were holding on for dear life; nothing prepares you for the loss of a parent at the exact moment you are learning to become one yourself. Born from that friction, and the guilt of trying to remain creative while navigating the hardest year of our lives — this project became a necessary lifeline in the margins of naps and late nights. Its goal was to capture the fleeting, heavy beauty of new life from pregnancy through toddlerhood. Designed as a complete sensory experience, this 56-page hand-stitched risograph book includes a print, vellum poem card, handmade ceramic incense holder, and cedarwood incense. It is an invitation to ground yourself in the midst of the "overgrown" and find a simple prayer for deliverance.
