In 2026, photographer Eriko Masaoka created the series “mijinko” in which she cut out fragments of contact sheets taken in Japan and abroad, re-photographed them, and rearranged them to form new compositions. Seeking a physical medium that would reach a wide audience, she published this photobook through OKKO. Like water fleas or drifting microparticles, the tiny moments captured by Masaoka are strung together in an irregular sequence. They invite us to reflect on life, time and the complexity of the world, as well as the invisible connections and dynamics that run through them.
